"GASING"
Introduction
Children
and adults alike who lived in kampongs.
Basically,
there are two types of gasing. One is
ornamental strictly for display
purposes and the other is for playing.
There are five different shapes of tops;
plateshape"Gasing" is
a Malay word for top. Gasing or top spinning
is a traditional game of the Malays. It
was a popular pastime and recreation among
d, heart-shaped, flat-top, egg-shaped
and berembang-shaped. (Berembang
is the fruit of a seaside tree.)

game
The
aim of the game is to keep the top spinning
for as long as possible. The game can
be played in teams or individually.

"CAPTEH"
Introduction
It is
a traditional game, using a feathercock.
It is quite popular among children and
as pastime activity.
The
game
The
aim of this game is to keep the "capteh"
(feathercock) in the air until an agreed
target of kicks (eg. 100) is reached.
The winner is the one who first achieves
this target. A minimum of two players
can participate in capteh.

FIVE
STONES
Introduction
It is
a traditional game
that popular among young girls in their
pastime.
The
game
This
game is played with five small triangular
bags filled with seeds, rice or sand.
Two or more players can play. The aim
is to score as many points as possible.
A point is scored when a player completes
the eight steps in throwing and catching
five stones.

"CONGKAK"
Introduction
A game
of wit, played by womenfolk in ancient
times, requiring no more than holes in
the earth and tamarind seed, has today
been refined to a board game. It is a
traditional mathematical game. This game
could help increasing your mathematical
skills and enhance your creative mind.
The
game
"Congkak"
is a game for two players using a board
which has several storehouses. The aim
of the game is to gather as many shells
into the storehouses on the players
side. Normally, either cowrie shells or
tamarind seeds are used. But nowadays
there are modern congkak using marbles
or plastic seeds.
